The low-level functions indicate partial functions of auditory perception and auditory processing. Also in some visual cases.

The order threshold, however, has very large fluctuations, so that it can occur quite normally developed children have increased order thresholds. Therefore, several methods are used.

After the examination of Dr. Fischer (Forum Speech Therapy, May 2007) the low-level functions for approximately 60% of dyslexics are affected. In particular, the pitch distinction and the order of time are striking. The temporal order corresponds to the serial order threshold into uncharted scheme (monaural stimuli with two different time slots as a parameter). To order threshold lateral / side order (Click L / R click), he found no significant agreement in dyslexics.

Low-level functions are used in diagnostics. Many medical reports contain references to higher order threshold, temporal order, pitch discrimination and so on.
